Yunxing is the newly appointed Mountain God of Mingwu Mountain.

By all rights, he should have been able to take human form after eighteen years. Unfortunately, Heaven played a huge joke on him—he simply failed to transform!

Mortified and unwilling to become the laughingstock of his fellow clan members, Yunxing secretly descended the mountain.

But the moment he came down, he sensed his spiritual power emanating from a human. Furious, Yunxing was determined to teach this human a proper lesson.

Later, he followed the man home and began his revenge, which included—but was certainly not limited to—using the human’s cup to wash his feet, sharpening his claws on the human’s curtains, and taking over the human’s sleeping spot…

Until one day, he discovered that his spiritual power hadn’t actually been stolen.

He looked down at his successfully transformed human body, then glanced at the man he’d ordered to replace his curtains.

Yunxing: Why the hell didn’t you tell me sooner?!

That very night, he dreamed of a brown-haired young man sitting on his sofa, bossing him around and declaring that his name was Yunxing, the Mountain God of Mingwu Mountain, and that from now on, Tan Xu had better take good care of him.

He slowly opened his eyes, only to meet the gaze of the calico he’d brought home.

Tentatively, he called out, “Xingxing?”
